My background is anything but traditional, and that’s exactly what makes my approach so powerful.
- 20 years as a writer in both traditional and online spaces
- 6 years as a conversion copywriter and messaging strategist in the online business space.
- 3 years working on my partner’s family vineyard in Italy
- I have a BA in International Relations and native fluency in three languages, with solid conversational skills in three more.
- In my free time, I’m an award-winning travel writer and fiction and nonfiction author. My current work-in-progres is a historical fantasy series set in the Ancient Mediterranean.
- I’ve lived in four countries (Italy’s been home for 7 years now) and traveled to nearly 40. My favorites are Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, and Nepal and my next dream destination is Japan.
- I’ve always been an entrepreneur. My first business was a custom swimwear company in Costa Rica and I’ve never worked in an office in my life.

about my books
The Trouble with Wings (2021, Burning Soul Press), is a deeply honest travel memoir about having the courage to create a life of your own, and the impossible choices that come with it.
(Inspired by two trips I took around the world, one that led me to myself and the other to my son.)
The Gift of Roots (2026) is the long-awaited follow up to The Trouble with Wings that weaves wine making, life in Italy and motherhood with the same unflinching honesty and unexpected insight.
(Inspired by my life in rural Italy over the last 6 1/2 years living and working alongside my wine maker partner and his mom, raising a little boy, and balancing dealing with misogyny with enjoying fabulous gelato)
My historical fantasy series (winter 2025) is set in the Ancient Mediterranean, and pulls from archaeology and obscure mythology to explore personal agency, hope, and the power of choice in the land of the Etruscans
(Inspired by a sailing trip in the southern Mediterranean in 2013 and also by the fact that I now live in a village built on a literal necropolis).
I also contributed to two anthologies, The Rising Sisterhood (2021) and Words and Brushes (2020) availble in major online bookstores.
